Tacoma School of the Arts (SOTA) Partners is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing advocacy, resources and guidance to Tacoma’s newest public high school, which opened its doors in several historic buildings in the city’s downtown core in the fall of 2001. SOTA Partners-comprised of parents, community leaders, teachers, administrators, and alumni, supports the unique interdisciplinary approach and continued development of this small, arts-focused school for 10th-12th graders.

Since its inception, SOTA Partners has served as the principal advocate for the school to arts, educational, government and business institutions. The Partners is also SOTA’s chief external fundraising entity, seeking additional financial support for innovative course offerings, facilities and materials that go beyond standard tax-supported initiatives. A prime example is SOTA’s Adjunct Artist Program, funded and administered by the Partners in cooperation with the school, in which professional artists work directly with students in various disciplines on a daily basis.
