Team Opportunities
Teams of dedicated individuals, working together, make SOTA Partners the force it has become on behalf of Tacoma School of the Arts. Our goal is to provide Advocacy, Resources, and Advice to SOTA, and we do this by employing the time, talents and dedication of as many of our internal and external partners as possible.
In addition to standing committees of the Partners Board, there are several specific teams focused on initiatives and issues of interest to our School, its Students, our Parents and community Partners, even prospective Partners from all points of Tacoma, Pierce County and beyond. Here are several key areas where we’re actively recruiting your participation and talents:
Communications Marketing, Newsletter, Public Relations, Writing, Website.
We’ve got an attractive semi-monthly newsletter, SOTA PoP (Partners on Paper), weekly email updates, this website, mailings, brochures, facility tours, and an ongoing outreach effort in place to build and grow relationships with post-SOTA educational institutions and all of our Partners.
Development Foundation, Corporate and Individual Giving, Fundraising, Special Events
Many of SOTA’s unique benefits and programs are only realized because of funding provided by Partners like you, and from connections made with foundations, arts organizations, corporate Partners and individual donors. Our Premiere Auction and ongoing revenue-producing programs like Albertson’s cards, wreath sales, bulb sales and other projects also contribute to our “bottom line”, as do special events, including performances sponsored by the Partners as fundraisers at SOTA and SOTA-community Partner facilities.
Parent Resource Team Forging and maintaining strong relationships between SOTA Administration, Staff and Parents.
Parents are a critical factor in SOTA’s past, present and future success, and they play a major role in the Partners. Parent Resource Team members are responsible for ensuring that open lines of communication are maintained, good news is shared, important issues are addressed, teachers and administration are supported, and advocacy is provided for student programs and events. We need parents to fill several ongoing and short-term roles on this team, now and during the year.
